Officers of the Richmond Association include a President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. Officers are elected for a one-year term at the annual meeting of the Association. The Past-President serves as the chair of the nominating committee and is a member of the Executive Committee.

D. Scott Laws
Scott is an Assistant Attorney General with the Virginia Office of the Attorney General. Before graduating from the George Mason University Law School, he worked for five years as a Program Analyst with the Department of Defense. Scott was initiated into Phi Beta Kappa in 2013 after graduating from the College of William and Mary and remains inspired by the spirit of lifelong learning and free inquiry that both
institutions promote..
Vice President
Anneliese Brei
Annelies graduated from William and Mary in 2022, and is now a doctoral student in the Department of Computer Science at UNC Chapel Hill. Her research is in Natural Language Processing with a focus on incorporating narratology into Language Generation, Narrative Understanding, and Narrative Intelligence. She intends for her research to be used to build new tools to help authors. Even though she spends the
majority of her time on research at Chapel Hill, she often returns to Virginia and enjoys spending time in Colonial Williamsburg, at her alma mater, and in Richmond. She is happy to chat about books, writing, computer science, Machine Learning, AI technologies, art, and painting interior rooms via Zoom or in-person over tea. Anneliese is honored to be a member of Phi Beta Kappa and hopes to bring the family together for more academic and social activities in the future.
Treasurer
Rusty Spears
Rusty recently retired from Northern Neck Insurance Company where he served as Vice President of Product and Data. He graduated from Connecticut College with a BA in Russian Studies and received an MA in Slavic Languages and Linguistics from The Ohio State University. He holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation. His previous board service includes various committee and chapter chairs with the CPCU Society as well as Treasurer of Hands On Hartford.

Lindsay Bunting Eubanks
Lindsay graduated from the University of Virginia with a double major in Political and Social Thought and French. She attended law school at William and Mary and currently practices employment law and litigation at Sands Anderson. She also serves on the board for ReEstablish Richmond, a nonprofit focused on refugee needs in the greater Richmond area. She is excited for the opportunity to serve, and to promote
academic excellence and scholarship for a rising generation through PBK
